The Homeopath's Guide To Drinking

Karen and I came up with a great way to combine the virtues of homeopathy with the many vices of drinking yesterday.

You take a pint of your favourite tipple – in Karen’s case, vodka – and then add just the tiniest, micro-droplet of orange juice or whatever healthy drink takes your fancy. Basically it’s the same science that lies behind products like Rescue Remedy and Mimulus.

Now your vodka will be imbued with all the goodness and nutritional excellence of orange juice in a way that will be disproportionately more effective than if you’d drunk a whole pint of orange juice on its own.

Absolutely fantastic!

Well... I think that’s the way you’re meant to do it anyway...

haha very good. Well, it would be. But I am on my no alcohol for a month stint so it's just the orange juice for me!

You and Karen can drink my share this month if you wish. Although I'm not big on vodka I have to say. But my allocation of rioja and whisky is yours for the taking. Not sure about rioja and orange juice though - sounds foul!

How is the sleep training going???

Hi Gina, you could always try it the other way round you know and see if it works - add the teeniest smidgeon of alcohol to your orange juice and see if it hits the spot!

Sleep training not going too badly... thought we'd struck gold Sunday night when he slept right through until 7am but last night he woke us up three times... we're not quite there yet it seems!

When I worked in a pub in the early '80s, customers wanted me to add blackcurrant juice to Stella Artois! I thought it bordering on sacrilegious!!

I haven't had a drink for three weeks, and I actually don't feel like one. My football mates are set to disown me.

TimeWarden I took a similar view to people who ordered "guinness and black"... not a great drink to be sick on either!

Matthew, there's a lot to be said for being abstemious - the occasional detox is good for the soul!

Thank you for the invitation, Daisy - email on its way! ;-)

well, you see this works even at breakfast...great thinking. Its something I have advocated long time...not the brekky tipple but the mixing. I quite like adding a spot of brandy and lime to my champers. But not at breakfast.

Amanda, you are - as ever - a woman of true class and style. ;-)

Who could argue with such bullet-proof logic? Not I.

Thanks Laura, I'm thinking of naming it "The Kevlar Cocktail"...

I found it quite entertaining that on one of the diet TV shows one of the dieters counted the orange in her vodka and orange as one of her daily portions of fruit and veg. Sounds like the kind of thing I do when dieting!

Hi Ally, what a fantastic idea! The same logic will see me munching my way through a packet of Opal Fruit and claiming that my 5 a day are completely sorted! ;-)

So this is your normal breakfast drink then, Stevenage?

I don' know what you mean, OC... hic!

And following the rules of homeopathy, the less OJ you add, the more effective it'll be!

Steve said...

Rol, we've got the amounts of OJ down to the barest atomic level... and the effect is extraordinary. The hit of vitamin C is actually making me see double...!
