Jumped The Gun

It seems I was a mite premature in my peevishness towards the Leamington Courier. I had an email this morning from their contribution’s editor thanking me for my letter about the Smack nightclub and advising me to see this Friday’s edition… a sure sign that my letter is primed for publication.

Another teeny-weeny serving of fame beckons.

Who knows I may end up as a guest on Loose Women after all…

Or should I be setting my sights a lot higher?

Congratulations, Steve, though I think "Loose Women" should be avoided at all costs!

Maybe a three-minute slot on the couch with Fiona Philips, on "GMTV", for some in-depth analysis to which her response will undoubtedly be, "Well, alright"!!

Or how about a guest spot on "This Morning" with Fern Britton and Philip Schofield? With Beverley Craven next to you on the couch.

Fiona or Fern? Hmm. Difficult choice. I think the Bev Craven concept adds a lot of weight to the "This Morning" idea. We could discuss vegetables and their myriad misuses, eh Old Cheeser...?!

Absolutely, I mean you wouldn't want Bev to eclipse your moment of fame or anything but I'm sure she'd be honoured to share the limelight with such a successful and brilliant novelist.

And a discussion on the use of vegetables is essential. In fact perhaps Bev could incorporate this into her "This Morning" performance. With Fern passing her a few of those rivettas she's so keen on. I'm sure Bev could do something interesting with those too.

Okay, that's enough. Mustn't spoil the surprise performance, must we?
